- unmountable boot volume

I have a user... running XP... when the system tries to boot, he gets the
dreaded blue screen with the stop error Unmountable_boot_error
Stop
xooooooEd... Ox82f60590, oxc000009c, oxoooooooo, oxoooooooo
I have searched and the only thing I have found is to try recovery
console....
Can anyone lead me to more information ...

This can be one of two things your harddrive is bad or you master boot
record is corrupted. You can boot into recovery consle and fix the
master boot record i would also reccomnd running ckdsk.

Try booting your machine to the XP Recovery Console and then entering
the command:
CHKDSK C: /R
Just entering CHKDSK with no parameters will not repair any problems
that do exist.

I tried the chkdsk and it said the volume appears to contain 1 or more
unrecoverable problems...
???
