Very very annoying message!!
Posted by Len Cuff on April 18th, 2006

For some odd reason, I keep getting this box appear on my XP Home PC.

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry for the inconvenience.
I click the Close button and absolutely nothing happens. PC just
carries on fine. This message is appearing every couple of minutes.

Anyone know how to fix it please?

TIA

cheers,
Len

Thought about viruses or other types of malware?

Tried all those. very odd thing is that I am NOT running
Internet Explorer when this box appears! I am just at the desktop with
no browsers running at all so why does it think there is a problem
when it's not running? Task manager also confirms that there is no
iexplore.exe running??

If I shift the box to the edge of the screen so it's not annoying me
then everything else works just fine!! Even web browsing !!
