I am having problems with running certain graphic intense software such as
Microsoft Flight Similator 2004. The game either locks up or gives me an
error message of "microsoft fs9 has encountered a problem and must close". I
am not sure what I need to do, but am fairly certain that this is a directx
issue or a graphics accelerator issue. Any ideas???

Hi

Have you installed the latest drivers for your graphics card from the
manufacturer's web site and also installed the appropriate version of
DirectX:

Did the game previously work with no problems? If so, it's most likely a
video driver issue. In general, you want to run the latest version of the
manufacturer's video drivers and the latest version of DirectX. In addition,
reinstalling the game might alleviate the situation. If you give us the
brand/model of your video card, we can point you to the drivers.

The game has been doing this since I got it. It is not the only program
acting up. I have the Mozilla firefox browser installed and when I am looking
at a graphic intense web site, it will sometimes also give me an error
message that a problem occurred and it must close. I have no idea what
graphics card I have, but I think it is a SiS.
