- Windows Installer keeps installing Adobe Acrobat 7.0.7
- Posted by Brentosaurus on April 13th, 2006
I've been getting an Windows Installer dialog box upon logging in,
and whenever I click on "My Documents" or even links in I.E., when I try to
open a New window in I.E., and other times it just constantly
reappears on its own and displays a message saying, "Preparing to Install....
Please wait while Windows configures Adobe Acrobat 7.0.7.... Gathering
required information" Even after I let it do it's thing and restart, the same
message repeatedly comes up every other minute. It's getting to be quite
annoying and I end up having to press cancel multiple times to bypass it.
Can someone please help?!?!?!?!?!? I'm running XP Prof. 2002, Service Pack
2. I've downloaded all the recent updates off the Windows website and
everything else is working fine and is in order.

Thank you for trying, but I've had no luck. I gave the orktools.exe tool a
shot, but it didn't work. I also tried the msicuu2 installer clean up setup
tool, but still no luck. I'm reluctant to try the other methods since they
are "at your own risk" and seem to apply to MS Office, not Adobe Acrobat
7.0.7. Any further advice would be really appreciated.
Cheers.
