- Windows keeps wanting to install a printer that is already install
- Posted by Neil Davis on December 31st, 2005
I know there is a MS fix in the help section involving regedit to fix this
problem, but I followed the directions explicitly and it doesn't fix my
problem.
My problem is that every time I boot up I get the standard "Found new
printer" box with the options of how to install. I have fully deleted my HP
deskjet 5650 and reinstalled and I still get the box on startup. I've tried
to follow the procedure in the unwanted box for installing the printer (even
though it is installed fine) - no joy.
It is becoming very annoying to have to cancel this box everytime I turn on
the computer--HELP.
