Hi Guys,
My daughter has been playing !!! and now the operating system is in a loop
mode. It has four option on starting Windows XP, normal, last known good
congig, command propmt mode, networking or safe mode.
I have tried them all and it keeps looping from start up back to this screen.
Can any one please advise or help.

If you can't get into the OS at all and there's no specific error messages
then the first line of troubleshooting would be a repair installation.

Hi
If none of those options allow you access to Windows, then you will have to
try a 'Repair' install of XP. Please have a look at the following article

Hi Colin
You'll have to look through the documentation that PC World supplied you
with in regard to reinstalling XP. I believe PC World will supply
'recovery' CDs at a cost of about £50 - but they may not include the option
to perform a 'Repair' install of XP. Try contacting the PC World branch
where you bought the system from.

I am having exactly the same problem. But when i put in the windows XP cd it
won't even get to the point of recovery, says s file is corrupted,
"dac2w2k.sys" and closes down, going back into the loop. I can't get to a
prompt, nothing, just keeps looping

Hi
Do you know what caused the original looping on your system?
See if the following link helps:

i googled it myself before i tried asking on here. I have no idea what
started it...i was moving the machine from one case to the other, and the
case (never did figure it out) wouldn't run the board, kept getting 3 long
beeps, swapped out the memory with every machine in the house but got the
same thing. Moved the machine back to old case and appeared everything was
fine then it came up asking to go into safemode, etc, and when you choose one
it reboots, in a never ending cycle.
I got the corrupt file message when i put in the windows xp cd to try to fix
it, and can't get around or passed it. Have narrowed it down to the hard
drive, switching out drive fixed the problem
still would like to figure it out, since i would like to be able to use that
drive!
