Windows XP not booting
Posted by thorpe89@gmail.com on October 27th, 2005

I don't know whether this is a physical problem or something installed
on my computer. Sometimes Windows XP decides to play up so when I next
boot my computer I get the messages saying that they are sorry becauses
Windows is unable to boot. There are several options displayed on the
screen; three of them are safe modes and another is start Windows
normally. I know I can get into safe mode but if I choose the option of
starting Windows normally and it seems like it is loading (Windows XP
logo is displayed while loading) but as soon as it is about to go onto
the main Windows interfact is reboots and the cycle goes on and on. I'm
not too sure if this is a hardware problem because I can get into safe
mode easily. This has happened to me several times in the past. There
is a way of fixing it but the message will come back a week or two
later. If I use System Restore whilst in Safe Mode sometimes that works
but not all the time. How do I stop this message coming up when booting
because I don't want to keep going into Safe Mode and then doing a
system restore.

If possible I would suggest running an Anti-Virus scan (cleaning any
infections that may be present) and then seeing if you can start Windows
normally.
