This is REALLY creepy. I am looking at a file [let's say "alarm.exe"] and
"alarm" does not appear on Windows XP Pro search function. How can this be
corrected so ALL instances of alarm.exe appear?

Thank you,

By typing in the search window "alarm.exe" and specifiying to search ALL
files and folders.
