XP Pro Splash Screen.
Posted by Burnsey on December 15th, 2005

I have a copy of XP Professional installed on my laptop. I had a problem and
had to fdisk the hard drive. I tried to reinstall with the XP Pro disk
(without sp2) and without success. I then called support and they walked me
through the install. Because my laptop came with XP Home it still shows an XP
Home splash screen even though I have XP Professional. How can I change the
splash screen from XP Home to XP Professional. I am assuming that there are
two files, I delete one and install another. I do not know what files they
are.
Could you help me?

Install SP2. The splash screen becomes generic after installing SP2.

The splash screen that appears at startup does not display the complete
Windows XP version information
