Deploying Office 2000 on Windows Vista Ultimate
Posted by Need Assistance! Please Help! on July 21st, 2007

I had no problem installing Office 2000 on Windows Vista Ultimate, but I have
run into a slight problem with my Outlook 2000 email program. I seem to keep
being asked if I want this program to be my default email program.
Additionally, I receive the following error message "Unknown Error
0x9EE4011D. An error occurred while attempting to open the windows address
book. Unable to find the WAB.DLL." What do I need to do? Now there is another
email program installed when installing the Windows Vista Ultimate. Could
this be the problem? Should I uninstall the office 2000 suite, and then
reinstall? What can I do instead of doing that, if anything? Would appreciate
any and all input on this matter.

Thanks for responding and the info Peter. So I guess I'm stuck in purchasing
the Office 2007 suite in order to have things my way then. I always hated to
have to upgrade when I did not need to. Any other websites that may have a
fix on this?

There is no fix except what is outlined on the site Peter gave you.

You could upgrade to Office 2003, it works well in Vista and is fully
supported. It's discounted now that Office 2007 is released or you
might find a used copy from someone who is upgrading to Office 2007?

If money isn't a problem you're probably better off getting the
latest version but be aware there is a learning curve, it's changed
a lot!
