- Deploying office 2003 after deploying MSOCACHE
- Posted by tdumalski@myalias.postalias on December 2nd, 2004
I am planning to deploy the Local Installation Source of Office 2003 prior to
performing the install. Once the LIS is deployed, what is the correct method
to call the installation to install from the LIS instead of from the original
deployment location that the LIS originally came from?
Thanks for your time.

Also, I am deploying SP1 with some Hotfixes. Is it a requirement to Cache
these as well? Is it possible to cache these? Is it best to deploy SP1 and
patched using the Chaining option in the setup.ini, or the additional files
in the MST file, or using the oHotfix utility?
Thanks again.

When installing SP1 using the setup.ini file, the logfile generated from the
office process states the following after installing SP1 from the setup.ini
chaining section:
"12/3/2004 12:18:55 PM Chained install return code: 3010" What exactly
does this mean?
Thanks.

When chaining MSP files in the setup.ini file, after installing them as part
of the office setup process, what is the best or easiest way to see that they
actually installed? As well, what the best method to see what patched have
been applied to the office installation?
Thanks again.

3010, means that the install needs a reboot to complete, these are all MSI
error codes which can be found on the MS website
