- How to prevent the Word 2003 getting started pane from opening every time by default?

I am tired of having to turn off this pane every time I open Word; anyone
know how to turn it off so that it stays off until turned on manually?

Choose "Options" then choose "View" then Uncheck Startup Task Pane
