- Locating and Updating Office Licenses
- Posted by John F Kappler on May 9th, 2008
We have numerous Office licenses, usually bouth in batchs of 5 or
10.......
As is usual in a distibuted organisation (!) we have now lost track of
which PC has which license on it. This leads me to two questions:
1) Is there anyway on an installed system I can track back from the
installed software to the license key?
2) Is there any way of updating an installed Office to a different
license key without having to do an uninstall and fresh install?
TIA,
JohnK

Depends on which version of Office.
For Office '97, 2002, 2003 & 2007, Belarc Advisor will find the license key
for you for the installed software.
A new and updated (version 2.0.1) of Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder
http://magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ is also now available which will work
with all versions of Office 2002 and later and almost all versions of
Windows plus many other license key programs.
There are key changing programs available on the internet free of charge
that will do the job.
