- Mixing Office XP and Office 2000 Applications??
- Posted by ANDY on October 26th, 2003
I have Office XP installed on my PC...it includes all of
the applications I need, except for Publisher......
I have an Office 2000 Professional disk that includes
Publisher 2000, and I would like to install Publisher from
there....the problem is that when I try to do so (using
Disk 2, which contains Publisher), I get a message
indicating that the installation cannot find a qualifying
product on my machine -- that is, I guess it is looking
for other Office 2000 applications or a previous version
of Office, and it's not recognizing the Office XP
installation.....
Any hints on how I can work around this??

It sounds like an upgrade version of Office. So do you have a prior
qualifying product? - presumably you did at one time. If so put the
qualifying product in the CD, (no need to install), when the install
searches. If you've lost yr origonal qualifying product, borrow one, if I
remember, Works should satisfy.
Presumably you were doing a Custom Install? Publisher only.
