- office XP won't reinstall ('Program files contains an invalid character')
- Posted by Oliver on July 2nd, 2003
I have previously installed offixe XP Professional
edition on my D drive. Unfortunately the disk broke, so
now i need to reinstall it onto my C drive. Ther problem
is that there are dregs of office all over the place and
it will neither install nor uninstall because (I think)
its looking for D:\program files which no longer exists.
The error given is "Error 1234. The folder path 'Program
files' contains an invalid character."
Is there any way I can sort this out without reinstalling
windows?
Cheers, Oliver.
