- Office2000 SP3 install - Expected version not found

I have a copy of Office 2000 Pro which I installed myself about 18 months
ago onto my new computer. Office runs fine, but when I tried to install SP3
I get the following message "The expected version of the product was not
found on your system." I have a legitimate full copy of Office 2000 & I
even ordered the SP3 disk from Microsoft in case my download was funky, but
to no avail. I'm trying to avoid a complete uninstall/reinstall, but is
that my only option?

You need to install SR1a first and then SP3
