Outlook Express Signature with Graphic
Posted by Christine on August 27th, 2003

I know how to add a signature to my Email, but I am
trying to add a graphic to the signature. I have followed
all the directions carefully (many times) using the HTML
text needed and browsing for the needed file that
contains the image. When I test it, nothing comes out at
the cursor. Yes, I do have rich text and include picture
checked. This is driving me crazy. anyone who could help
with this would be much appreciated! Thanks.

I would like to know too. I have been inserting a banner I created at the end of each e-mail.

Here are some instructions.
Originally posted by Roy C:

1. Create a new folder to store your signature items.
I named mine "signature"

2.Create the text of your signature to your liking.
You can do this in MS Paint or any Graphics program you like,
such as Paint Shop Pro 5 etc.
Or you can go to www.zy.com free graphics page and make one there.
Then download it to you system.

3.After you create the text of your name save it as a .GIF/JPG
file and put it in your signature folder.

4.If you want to also have a little .GIF included (such as my
little guy) put it into the signature folder also.

5.Now open Front Page Express.

6.Click insert/image select "from file" and browse to your
signature folder. Highlight "yourname.gif" and click open.

7.Your name should now be visible in Front Page Express.

8.Repeat step six if you have another GIF you want to insert.
Just leave your cursor where you want the image to be.

NOTE: By default, Front Page Express double spaces when you hit
enter/return. If you do not want to double space hold down the
shift key while you hit enter/return.

NOTE: Animations will not play at this point. This is normal
and will play in the final product.

9.Add any other text you may wish such as ICQ number etc.

10.If you wish to make your name a hyperlink to email continue
on. If not skip to number 16

11.Hightlight the part you want to make a hyperlink.
You can do this by holding down the left mouse button and dragging
across the part you want to highlight.

12.Click the edit/create a hyperlink button. It looks like
a small globe.

13.In the hyperlink type box select "mailto:"

14.In the URL box type in your email address.

15.Click OK, then click in an empty spot on the page to remove
highlight.

NOTE: If you now hold your cursor over that hyperlink you will
see your email address at the bottom of the page, left side.

16.Now click file/save as in the pop up Page title box and give
it a name you like.

17.Click "AS FILE"

18.In the "save a file" box-- be sure your signature folder is open.
Click save.

Done! You now have a cool HTML signature ready to use, with
little or no HTML knowledge.

To test it go to your signature folder and double click on the
HTM file you just made. It should open in Internet Explorer.

You can now set this up as your signature in Outlook Express
if you desire.

In Front Page Express you can change your text size, color, make it
bold etc. by highlighting it and using the button's on the tool
bars.
