- Unable to Install Project Professional 2007
- Posted by DSPolugar on August 3rd, 2007
I have Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 fully installed from the Microsoft
Partner DVD. I cannot install Project Profession 2007 as I receive the
following error message, "Setup cannot find a version of Microsoft Office on
your computer" after successfully input the product key. Manually specifying
the location, etiher C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office or C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 results in the error “The path you have
chosen does not point at a qualifying upgradeable product.” Placing the
original office DVD results in the same error. Contacting Microsoft Action
Pack subscription support states that this should be a clean install and not
an upgrade.
Any support that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you.

MS Project needs to be installed separately and not as an Upgrade.

Peter,
This gave me a clue but the real answer lies in the post below. You have to
show the previous version of Project (in this case Project 2003). Then it
worked. The message on the install is misleading as it says it is looking for
a previous version of Office. It should say it is looking for a previous
version of Project.
