- Windows Me no longer recognizes Office 2000 programs????
- Posted by TexasRon on March 16th, 2006
Recently Windows Me stopped recognizing that Office 2000 is installed. All
Office programs will open briefly and then close. Message indicates that
Office must be installed to run. Office does not show up on Uninstall menu
so it cannot be uninstalled. Also it will not re-install from disks. Does
anyone have a solution for this? Thanks!

See:

OFF2000: Error Message: This Program Must Be Installed to Run

You receive a "This application must be installed to run" error
message when you start Office 2000 programs because of missing
subkey information

Hi,
I have not removed Works from my system --- I tried it and it still opens.
I was able to rebuild the registry via method 1, but the error message still
comes up when I start up the computer, and Office programs won't stay open.
Since installer won't work for Office, I haven't been able to reinstall.
Thanks for your suggestions.... Any more?

Is there any chance that ZoneAlarm or Taxcut2005 installation could cause the
problems with Office 2000 programs no longer open --- my Windows Installer
program shows only ZoneAlarm installed (no other programs). All other
installed programs work except Office 2000???
Thanks in advance!
