I have office 2000, and downloaded the Office Compatibility Pack so I could
read/open .XML files.

Now what?

In Excel, it still wants to treat the XML file as a CSV. And when I use
explorer and right-click on the XML file, there is no conversion like it
says on the website.

"Office 2000 users, as well as users of Windows 2000 SP4 and later, can
convert Open XML Formats to binary file formats from within Windows
Explorer."

Thx.

Hi Bill,

The converter pack provides the ability to open the (zipped) xml content packages that make up the new standard file formats for
Office 2007 such as .docX, .pptX, .xlsX that are constructed to the 'Office Open XML' standard (originally proposed by Microsoft).
The converter/compatibility pack doesn't add capabilities to older versions of Office for 'plain' .xml files.
