- Adding a second TV Tuner Card to existing XP Media Center 2005 PC
- Posted by Tigger on December 21st, 2005
My current system:
Asus P4P800 E Deluxe Mobo
2.4 GHz Northwood CPU
1 Gig DDR Ram
ATI 9800 AIW Pro Video/Tuner Card
750 Gigabyte availible storage
Gyration Wireless Mouse and Keyboard
Antec Opera Desktop Case (nice piano black high gloss finish)
ATI remote wonder FM remote
My question is a just purchased a ATI TV Wonder PCI card and have added it
to the system. I downloaded and installed the WDM drivers from the ATI web
site for the card it appears to be completely installed with no issues
showing up in the device manager of the system. How do I configure MCE 2005
to use the 2nd Tuner card? I went thru setup and did not see anything
referring to a 2nd tuner card. Am I mistaken in thinking that I could have
dual TV tuner cards record seperate NTSC channels from my cable subscribtion?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. The 9800 AIW tuner seems to be
working fine as it was before, but I don't see anything relating to the 2nd
tuner inside of the MCE enviroment.

Try to record a show on one channel and view a show on another channel. If
you can indeed watch one and record another at the same time everything has
installed properly.
