- Blu-ray player plays in black and white on Dell XPS M1530, whyyyyy
- Posted by Piret Frédéric on March 23rd, 2008
Well, I personally got a Dell XPS M1530 and the Dell player that comes along
can play blu-ray disks... However, i don't know why exactly, it plays in
black and white, no colours, no no, nothing, nada.
I don't know why, and wished I could try with another player in order to see
if the problem lies with the application or with the hardware. Of course, DVD
players from Corel (WinDVD) and Cyberlink (PowerDVD) are not free to be
tested with blu-ray.
So indeed, would blu-ray be supported by Win Media Center, would make my
day... at least to test (in the first place).

I assume that the Dell player has no trouble with color when it is playing a
standard DVD.
Have you tried more then one Blue-Ray DVD?
Have you contacted Dell support yet?

On the Cyberlink Power DVD site there is an app for checking system setup for
playback of Blu Ray/DVD's it may be worth running it on your system as it
might tell you if you have a hardware/codec fault. Its a starting
point.......
