what do you think of the WinTV-PVR-500MCE ------for a analog tuner ? pic
quality ok ?
DVICO FusionHDTV5 Gold Plus, HDTV Tuner Card, ATSC, QAM
[FusionHDTV5-Gold] ------ for HD ?
eVGA GeForce 6600 256MB TV-out/DVI/HDTV PCI-E Heatsink Edition -- Video

You tuner card selections are fine. Make sure you get the 500 daughter card
if you will have two STBs feeding the 2 tuners in the 500.
There is a new Dual NTSC Tuner comng from NVIDIA soon but the date keeps
changing.
You will also need the NVIDIA DVD Decoder from the NVIDIA Web site.
The 6600 does not have the memory bandwidth to handle 1080i HDTV programs
and also is not the best choice for Picture Quality.
I recommend a 128MB NVIDIA 6600GT or a ATI X1600 Pro.
Make sure that whatever card you get has the output interface(s) you will
need now and in the future for your monitor/display(s).
Also make sure that you download and install the latest XP X2 driver from
the AMD Website the version that have now may be out of date for use with
MCE.

I just installed an eVGA 6600GT card I'm happy with. The GT was about the
same price as the 6600, but according to the clock specs, about twice as
fast but had only 128Mb. I'm running a 1920x1080 signal out the DVI port
into my 51" Philips HDTV and getting a great picture.

The fan doesn't seem that loud, but it's drowned out by the other fans in
the case <g>. I hear Asus makes a Silent card, but don't know if it's the GT
or the regular 6600. I got the eVGA on the recommendation of another
MVP...don't know anything about the Gigabyte board.
