I agree, I got my LCD RP before the DLP's were out. Don't get me wrong, the
LCD RP is still fabulous, but the DLP does not have the blurry motion of the
LCD, it's brighter, and it has truer black. I think the LCD RP *might*
still win in the bang for the buck category; having been out longer than the
DLP's the price is dropping on them just a little faster, but the DLP is
catching up.

I sat in the showroom with a samsung DLP 50" sitting next to a Panasonic 50"
LCD and watched Star Wars on both, image was very similar quality until it
came to a scene with the sky having clouds in it, the DLP looked fake, the
LCD was much nicer, so I bought the Panasonic and have my MCE hooked in via
RGB cable, looks great!!

LCD is the way for me!!

Too bad...you really made the wrong choice.

FYI, Star Wars was made digitally using digital cameras, AMD Opteron
processors and all editing was done on DLP monitors. What you saw on the
DLP (provided the dealer had not tweaked it to make it look worse than the
DLP on purpose) was what the scene was meant to look like. The room was
probably paid for by Panasonic and had the monitors set up to have the
desired effect...you bouht the Panasonic.

You should have made you own decisions based upon independent viewing, not
something set up in an artificial environment in a showroom.

Enjoy your Panasonic. Meanwhile, I'll be seeing things as they were *meant*
to be seen on my DLP.

actually it was just on the showroom floor, the model I bought is
http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs...0000 00005702

there were several different scenes in which the Samsung DLP looked too
fake, vs the LCD. Anyway guess its all user preference,, the price was the
same so that was not a factor. One cool thing was that the LCD had media
card slots for slide shows from digicams, the DLP had none. I do have a
Samsung HD LCD in my bedroom that totally rocks vs the big LCD but it is
only 23", I have an xbox extender on it so that works cool. I have
convinced the wife to let me go this weekend and get one of these
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...753531,00.html
for the basement, will put another extender on it.. should rock..

does your DLP have user serviceable lamps etc like my LCD?

The Sony was my first HDTV, and I had it for about a month before I really
even began to take notice of the motion artifacts. Now that I have had it
almost two years, they really stand out to me sometimes. To me the motion,
in the DLP's that I have seen, is much crisper. I still love my LCD though.
