How do you connect the emitter bug?

The IR emitter gets plugged into the IR receiver (which in turn is plugged
into your PC via USB). The emitter should be placed over the sensor window
on the sat box. Some people have reported better luck by placing it slightly
to one side rather than direcect on top of the sensor window on the box.

To add to that, Microsoft was kind enough to make the cord for the emitter
3ft. long. If you don't have your PC set up next to your TV (like most of
the world), you will likely have to move your sat. receiver to the pc and
then run the signal back to your home theatre. Wither that or get a long
length of USB2.0.

If the manufacturer you bought you bought your PC from did not provide you
with a long enough cord then you can just get an IR extender at Radio
Shack. I don't understand why you are blaming MS for the problem since they
are not the company that provided the cord.
