Widescreen resolution....
Posted by Joe on February 20th, 2006

My question is about display resolution.

I have my MCE 2005 PC attached to my Plasma TV. I want to take advantage
of the widescreen format, the resolution that is native to my TV is not an
option
for resolution. I have a Samsung HP-R4252. I can't find drivers for this TV,
and I haven't had any luck with any other drivers that I have selected.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks.

You need to upgrade to a more powerful video card that will
support a wide screen monitor/TV.

Carey,

The video card supports 1920 x 1080, however when I choose that resolution
the desktop is far larger that the TV displays, so I only see about 1/3 of the
screen. I understand that it should downconvert from 1080 to 768. Maybe it
is just the input that is the problem. I am using the VGA instead of the
DVI/HDMI
input.

Regardless, is there anything else that I can try to fix this? Is there a
generic
video driver for widescreen that works better than the default?

Any advice would be appreciated.
