and choose their free Option 1 package to go with it.

Its IPStream too

I'm actually gutted as I cannot get 1Mb, so if I want broadband from
Talk Talk I have to go for their 1/2Mb package costing more at £19.99!!!

Sounds good - but if you are a p2p user note the 'network controls' that
they can put in place, as per their 'Questions Answered' section 9.

Thus spaketh johnydeath:
I recently got kicked off Talk Talk, only downloaded 30gb in Feb, and half
that was to make up for Jan, when the service was useless, Talk Talk is a
nightmare and should be avoided at all costs. Their service is far from
unlimited.

Thus spaketh dexter@blueyonder.co.uk:
They are kicking people off if you use 50gb that is upload and download
together, they kicked me off before I hit 50gb, I'd not long gone over 30gb
download, my upload wasn't even hitting 20gb.

As you are with Telewest I would stay with them for broadband, I would be with
them if they hadn't forgot to upgrade our road last year, and now have no
plans to upgrade it!

but if you use less than 50Gb like most people then it must be

If you don't mind terribly slow speeds at peak times, DNS errors, and
'managed' tariff, whereby downloads can crawl along at under 3k/s, if not come
to a standstill, then I suppose you could get by.

ah well, its just as well I cant get it, and the out-laws have just
been connected on AOL with their new enabled exchange. AOL will be fine
for them, as for me, Pipex have sent me my MAC, more research to come.....

Yes, my intention was to increase my downloads to get kicked off, except they
had beaten me too it, I know a few people who are going to download over 50gb,
just so they can get off Talk Talk for free.

I'm considering ADSL4Less as Pipex will do me for £23.44 for 1/2Meg,
whereas the former do it for £14.99. There are not too many companies
with whom you can get a great deal when you are restricted to less than 1Mb.

I haven't heard of any complaints with ADSL4Less. Though you will need to find
newsgroup access, as they don't run their own newsgroup server, or offer
webspace.

Don't Pipex give you 1 MB/S for £23.44 if you pay then a once off £15 ?

I've been with Pipex for 2 years and got an email the other week saying
they'll be upgrading everyone for free inthe next few month but if yo
pay £15 once off now you'll get it done sooner

I'm with Talk Talk for phone calls and no problems there

Is Talk Talk broadband any good for a person who works from home and
needs internet workin reliably?

I collected some stats and my average uploads and download combined are
about 15 GB per month plus my sister's PC probabaly no more then 20gb at
the most per month

Do they only care about downloads rather then uploads?

How do I change the broadband line speed?
For this reason you can simply change your broadband line speed by
contacting TalkTalk customer services on 0870 444 1820.
Customers who start on the 512kb product will be able to upgrade to the 1MB
package for no initial cost and with no requirement to sign another 12 month
contract. Customers wanting to downgrade from 1MB to 512kb will be required
to sign another 12 month contract dated from the downgrading of their
service. You can change your speed once each billing month.

Is it true that user gets cut off if crossing the 30gb down+up limit ?
