adsl (usb) connection sharing question
Posted by roy on September 29th, 2004

Is it possible to merely unplug the usb lead and plug it in to another
computer (or wire a switch -not a problem for me) or will there be
problems like you get with mac addresses and ethernet cards when using
cable. You see, I just want the simplest/cheapest way of using adsl on
two machines at seperate times - networking not required nor desired.

tnx
roy

@yahoo.co.uk:

You can plug a modem into whatever computer you want.

Yep, that's how a mate of mine did it until he bought a router. He would
unplug his son's PC and plug in his own when he wanted to get onto the
internet. But now that he spends more time on the net he decided to buy a
router so he could be on the same time as his son.
