it says in the nethelp files you can only connect one computer to your home
service.Does this mean at a time ? Or is it OK to connect a laptop for
instance when your desktop pc isn't connected?

Im sure this was covered only a few days ago.
But to put it at its simplest.
BT dont care what you connect. BUT they wont provide support to you. You can
still report Faults and service problems
But you will have to be sure your network is OK. And personally I dont blame
them and im sure most other ISPs are the same with giving support to users
who have equipment that they didnt supply.
The last call i took from a customer was for a network of WinXP Win 95, 98
and Linux, Its lucky I can access most OS's except Apple ones so could help
them, but its hardwork getting them to check things and having to talk them
through it as in their own words "Im not too good at this PC stuff" thank
god I work for myself and dont have to help if I dont want to.

If you want to use more than one PC at a time then you will have to do one
of the above. Many people do !
