- calling UK,mobile from NZ
- Posted by grumpyoldhori on January 23rd, 2006
Greetings from New Zealand, some advice please.
A friend of my wife in the UK only has a mobile phone.
I have a PC loaded with Skype etc.
Looked at it from this end but even Skype out calls were
ten times as much to a mobile.
Any advice in how to get reasonable rates would be helpful.
Offpeak is fine.
thanks a lot.

http://www.sipgate.co.uk/user/tarife.php?show=1 are reasonably priced for
calls to UK mobiles @ £0.099/minute - the only issue is they charge in whole
minutes.
If you want a UK geographic number, you'll need to sign up with a UK IP
address, otherwise use a UK proxy, or get your wife's friend to do it,
perhaps. If you choose a number from the friend's area, perhaps they would
ring your number from their mobile. After all, I suppose they have some
inclusive miinutes on the mobile account.
Terminating calls to UK mobiles is an expensive business - I come accross
people daily who're paying £0.18/min or more.
