- Can anyone confirm that Wanadoo limit is not enforced?

I've had to move back in with my parents so I am using their 30gb
limit Wanadoo connection and I don't want go over, but I have read
that Wanadoo are not enforcing the limit till next year, does anyone
know any more about this and had anyone gone over the limit with no
problems?

Wanadoo can't currently enforce the limit (thank BT Wholesale!) but will be
from later this year/early next year.

Does anyone know exactly when or where I can read more about it, I've tried
googling but the word wanadoo
brings up so many links....
Next year is fine, but "later this year" makes me nervous. My dad works from
home and if I lock out his connection
he'll be in trouble.
Also does anyone know whether wanadoo will warn us when this happens and
what will happen if we go over?
I am willing to pay for any extra over the limit as long as its not too
expensive. I would change ISP but its my parents
house and phone line.

I am pretty sure you are safe until the end of this year.
All the ISP's are waiting for BT Wholesale to properly release this
functionality on their ADSL network - I can't remember if a date has
officially been given yet
If you're going to be at home, it may be a good idea to suggest they do this
anyway..

Even if they did enforce the limits at the moment and you went over them I'm
sure you would just get a warning letter rather than disconnecting you.

They currently provide no way for us to check how much data we have
downloaded so it seems unlikely that they can enforce the caps. I'm
sure emails will be sent out when they start enforcing the limits -
together with a means of checking how much you have downloaded
(perhaps a link in the member centre on their website?)

I believe it depends how the ISP in question is accepting the traffic from
BT Wholesale.
Some methods allow more control for the ISP - the other ISPs will just have
to wait for BT Wholesale to implement its already announced changes.
I think BT Wholesale already supplies usage details once every 2 hours, but
what they promise in future will be much closer to "real time"
