- Can I swap my TJ210 for a home 200?

Hi All,
A mate (who runs a PC shop) gave me one of the silver NTL home:200
cable modems (that had come with some old PC stuff).
I am still running the big, black Terylon TJ210 upright cm and
wondered if there would be any advantage in changing (I haven't had
any problems with it in 5+ years), like would it take higher speeds
(over my current 1M bps) if they give us all higher speeds later on?
The big question is I assume the mac of the 200 is (or was) registered
to someone else and that the modem itself is 'the property of NTL' (in
spite of seeing them on eBay etc) ;-)
So, assuming the mac of my Terylon is registered with NTL is there a
way of 'cloning' the mac of that into the 200, then I assume it would
simply be a box swap?
So, if I *can* make use of it somehow (even if it has no technical
advantage over the existing might it be handy to keep as an offline
spare?

Would you happen to know if one can 'access' the soft / firmware on
these modems and play with the settings (like mac add)?

Well, it's smaller and I thought being more modern might support any
higher speeds should / when they come along?
