- connect adsl external modem to internet
- Posted by kev on January 18th, 2004
Hi,
I'm having real problems with this, but then again I am a newbie.
Right, have connected my conexant modem to my laptop with Ethernet ports,
typing the ipaddress into the address by opens a webpage with settings on -
all of which are correct.
but when I type a web address in I get nothing.
can anyone help, or point by to a good beginners guide to networking etc...
thanks
kevin

It sounds like you`ve actually done everything - has it worked
previously, ie. can you confirm the line is actually "live" as
far as adsl is concerned ?

In article <bueoft$mad$1@newsg3.svr.pol.co.uk>, me@home.com says...
What settings have you checked? What DNS ip's are you using?
uk.comp.home-networking is a good place to ask further.
