I'm looking for some help with troubleshooting my wireless
connection... can anyone here help, or point me towards a netgear
specific group?
I've got a Netgear DG834PN, which I've been using for about a month
without any problems. Yesterday, though, I couldn't connect to msn or
googletalk - it was as though only http traffic was being allowed. It
rapidly degenerated to not being able to see the wireless network at
all. I tried a bunch of different things, restored settings, checked
passwords, etc, and eventually I've managed to determine that:
- if I connect my laptop to the router via an ethernet cable, I can
access the net
- while it's connected via ethernet cable, the laptop will sometimes be
able to see the wireless network and connect to it; but sometimes it
won't. It'll stay connected for a few minutes, then drop the
connection, then reconnect, and so on
- if the laptop isn't connected to the router via the ethernet cable,
it can't even see the wireless network at all (even when I'm sitting
right next to the router)
This doesn't make any sense to me at all, but then I don't know a lot
about wireless networks. It doesn't seem as though it could be an ISP
issue, or a wireless adapter problem, or a password or WPA key issue.
The logs don't show anything useful either.
Any ideas gratefully appreciated...

Considering that it was working perfectly last week, Is it possible
that the wireless module is faulty? Do I need to start getting
netgear's tech support involved?
