- definitive 8 meg list

Is there a definitive list (or site) advising of all providers doing 8 meg
(or more) service?
I was going to go with Bethere - but have read some horror stories from
customers who would rather not Bethere

Go to ADSLguide news search (<http://www.adslguide.org.uk/newsarchive.asp>)
and try 8 Mbps. Some entries will be for 'future' services, and since BT W
is not yet offering high speed (supposed to be launched in spring 2006) the
only option will be from LLU services (Easynet, Bulldog, (Be)) or cable.

UK ADSL <http://tinyurl.com/dghgq> - Happy to save cash with Plus.Net!
Unsuitable for heavy downloaders, but fine for video/audio streaming.

Thanks, Peter - at a quick glance, seems phonelines/ADSL may have more
issues delivering high speed (8 meg, etc) whereas the same issue does not
seem to be with Cable.
Yes, I live in a non-cabled area. NTL (NTLFreedo) ADSL 512k has been good
to me though, although at £24 per month (including £15 of free phone calls)
too expensive for its speed.
I may forego the so-called 8 meggers, and go for a 2 meg service - assuming
its reliable, and it has unlimited download amount included.

Here again you'll have to do some quite deep research as most of the
ISP's are introducing some type of capping/ fair user policy & the
majority of those are not making it easy to find before (or even after)
you sign up. Don't think ZEN or A&A are at the present moment but be
careful about whoever you chose (& also, like the 8Mb providers, it's
upto, not guaranteed so you may not be able to get even 2Mb; it's not
the same as cable you know)...

Interesting indeed - many thanks - I will bear it in mind when deciding.
