Degraded Service - Not 7Mbps (DO NOT HIJACK THE FORUM AGAIN)
Posted by elpale1 on February 20th, 2008

For the past 2 months ... my Rogers Communications HiSpeed Interne
service has been below its advertised speed of 7mbps ... only in th
evenings and late afternoon..

Why am I paying for 7mbps if im only getting 1.5mbps in the evening.

Its only at full capacity in the mornings... and i work... so I neve
get full speeds.

Anyone else? Anyone call them up about this yet?

(NO MORE ARGUE ABOUT WHAT THIS FORUM IS ABOUT, IT ROGE
TELECOMMUNICATIONS INC. in CANADA. NO THE UK

I'd be more interested in asking why they hijack a usenet feed and disguise
it as their own customer support forum!

But in answer to your question (and I'm strarting to think you're trolling)
your service is probably advertised as "Up to 7mbs" depending on a multitude
of factors (it's how it is in the UK at any rate).
Check your small print.

Indeed. They're doing the same with alt.cellular.nokia under the guise
of 'Rogers User Forums > Other Wireless Carriers > Nokia Wireless'.

Some people are replying to you without actually helping you or explaining

called) Users Forum. Rogers have, in fact, "stolen" or "hijacked" if you
want to put it that way, the postings in the USENET newsgroup
uk.telecom.broadband.

If you click on here news:uk.telecom.broadband it will open Outlook Express
(or whatever newsreader software you have installed on your computer) and
you will see the same postings that you are seeing on the Rogers Forum.
You'll see that it's not in the same format and that you are not looking at
a "traditional-looking" web page, but what's called a USENET Newsgroup. For
more information on USENET, have a look here:

Hope that helps,

Suggest you personal email the Roger's forum admin and ask why they stole a
UK Usenet forum (news:uk.telecom.broadband) and put a webpage front end on
it to pretend its a forum run for their customers.

Then, when the bozos at Roger's have answered that question, ask them the
technical one about your service, and decide whether you need a competant
supplier

Hi elpale1 (or whatever your name is),

You wrote to on 20.02.08 about "Degraded Service - Not 7Mbps (DO NOT
HIJACK THE FORUM AGAIN)":

[hack to here]

Are you a Newfy, or worse ? *This* is a UK Newsgroup carried on Usenet,
*NOT* one of the Roger Telecomms forums - unless your Roger outfit is a
hijacker!

Just what part of that don't you understand ?

Dear Sir/Madam,

It has been brought to my attention that you believe that you are in
charge of the internet.

That is *in fact* incorrect.

When my husband, Mr. Trellis, passed away 2 years ago, he left me in
charge.

I have the rule book here, should anyone wish to verify the fact that
I am 'de facto' in charge of the internet.

Other kind folk of the internet: Please disregard all posts from
elpale1.

I thank you for your indulgence.

Mrs. Trellis.

Learn this you dippy bitch, the forum is cloning the usenet newsgroup
'uk.telecom.broadband'. So you can take your 'do not hijack the forum'
bullshit and stick it up your arse, whoever is running the forum is
hijacking our uk. newsgroup. So how about you take your rubbish-sounding
broadband and fuck off?

You may be posting in some crappy bbs in Canada, but your posts are
being replicated into uk.telecom.broadband, probably by the same crappy

stupidly clueless your provider is, why not also get a clue about usenet?

It's called congestion. It's the result of inadequate investment in

And in case it hadn't yet grabbed you, "UK" is an abbreviation for "The
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".
The UK consists of the following elements:
England
Scotland
Wales
Northern Ireland.

It does NOT include the Dominion of Canada.

Geddit?
