- Dialup backup ISP
- Posted by Theo Markettos on August 9th, 2007
I need a dialup ISP for when I'm away from home, or when there's a problem
with the broadband connection. Given BT's sneaky price rises on 0845 calls,
it probably means using an 0844 number rather than an 0845. Can anyone
suggest a cheap ISP for connectivity? Don't care about email addresses,
webspace etc etc. Presumably someone must be offering dialup at 0.5p/min
given there are international dialthrough providers at that price?
Thanks

Thanks for that... was getting extreamly pissed of using BT dial up to
connect when Bt brodband went down and was re syncing...
The cost for the last week of having to use dial up is higher than bt
broadband for the month.

The catch with the no registration outfits is that they have a reputation of
being used by spammers so their netblocks are on spam blacklists. I was
setting up a backup dial-up for someone and couldn't understand why my
test emails weren't getting through, all 4 providers I tried were on blacklists
that my mail provider uses (optionally) so they were being dropped.
