disconnecting

am on asdl with virgin. connecting thro usb alacatel. with no other
equipment in usb ports.
day one no probs d/l at 66k/sec
day two cutting off, disconnecting around the 2hour mark. can get straight
back in with no reboot needed
day three (today) left it downloading, foiund it disconected three minutes
after my back was turned!

is it virgin, me or my pc?

anyone come across this

doesn't completely rule out the modem, but there's a very good chance it is
Virgin.

Thanks for that link.
The threads make very interesting reading for anybody with Virgin.
I've been logging IP address and signal level data for the last week.
My IP address has changed 8 times in the last week. Which seems
unusual for a always on SAR715. The IPs I've been getting do not
seem sticky in any way.

This made me wonder.

How dynamic can dynamic IPs get ?
