Hi there,
After considering Be and being put off I am now considering freedom to surf
as a static ip providing broadband service.
anyone have any comments on how good they are?
Thanks

When I left them a year or two back they were absolutely terrible as a
result of being taken over by pipex...

They are now owned by Pipex - you have been warned.
If you don't have problems I found them to be OK. Unfortunately the only
time I had to use their support service because my broadband line was
dead it took over an hour for a real human to answer the phone.

<WHATEEVVEERR@by.co.uk> mangled uncounted electrons thus:
speed dropoffs (except occasionally it slows down on Sundays,
presumably because all the world and his wife and kids are on
line and increasing contention). My average monthly use is only
around 3GB, though (no p-to-p apps, online gaming, i-Tunes or
similar) so I've never had occasion to try out their 'fair usage'
policy.

Been with them for 5 years, and pretty happy in general. They don't often
appear in this group (which probably means they're OK!)
