How can I avoid exceeding my download limit?
Posted by apiro on July 19th, 2007

Hi,

My ISP allows me up to 8GB monthly download allowance and as I
understand it this can apply to simply images or short films at
Youtube coming up in the browser regardless of whether I download them
or not.

Is there a program which can warn me if I am close to or exceeding the
limit? Preferably freeware.

Thank you.

Spiro.

Spiro, you were given good answers in the thread (of the same name) you
started yesterday, ie, http://www.metal-machine.de/readerror/ is free,
http://www.dumeter.com/ is better IMHO but you have to pay for it. Both of
these work on single machines but will not keep a total of all machines on a
network.

One that works with the router and so keeps a total of all machines on a
network is http://www.paessler.com/prtg

Are none of these any good to you?

I'm wondering if he expects us to email him our replies. Some ppl think Usenet
works like that or maybe they're just plain lazy.
