I'm not the previous poster, but I too have done it. You need to do the
following, assuming that you've got a BT NTE5 master socket with removeable
faceplate:
Undo the 2 screws, and withdraw the faceplate.
If there is extension wiring kroned into the back of the faceplate, make a
careful note of which wire is connected to which numbered connection point,
and then pull the wires off.
Use an IDC insertion tool to krone the wires into the corresponding
connections on the back of the filtered faceplate.
Insert the faceplate into the socket base, and do up the screws.
Throw away any plug-in filters which you may have.
You can now connect your modem/router to the ADSL output on the faceplate
and analog phone equipment into the phone output. Any extension sockets you
have will automatically be filtered.
If your ADSL equipment is remote from the master socket, you'll need to run
a digital extension for it - using one pair from a CAT5 cable, and kroning
the wires into the *unfiltered* connections on the back of the faceplate.
You'll need an RJ11 output socket at the other end, in a convenient location
for your ADSL kit.
