- How can I reconnect automatically?
- Posted by [Huge] on September 11th, 2003
Hi,
I've just had BT Openworld Business 500 installed and noticed that the line
drops from time to time (so far about once every 8 hours or so). If BT were
using a regular Windows dialup connection I could set it to reconnect
automatically, however, I need to run this program called DialBTOWBB.exe to
log on. Even though there is a connection in my Network Connection folder
for BTOW when I double click it, I never get a connection...... so this
dialbtowbb.exe program must do something else.
So the questions are, how do I redial automatically to remain connected and
what does this dialbtowbb.exe program.
Thanks,
Dave

From what I remember about the sh!t that BT want to do to you, they make
a virtual dialup when the program runs, which is deleted once you get cut
off.
Try making a dialup manually, put a fake number in to dial ie. 111 1111,
and make sure the login and password are correct.
If you can get this working ok, there`s a nice free program called CIDIAL
(google for it, I think it`s www.aldensoft.com) which will reconnect if
you are cut off for any reason, and can be safely started from the
startup group in windows.
