- How long an outage to switch from Freeserve to Bulldog?
- Posted by Fred Finisterre on December 15th, 2004
Didn't a lot of ISPs agree a scheme a couple of months back whereby there
was some fast hand-over method when a customer wants to change BB ISP?
I'm looking to get the Bulldog 4Mb service, but can't face being without
broadband for weeks.
Cheers,
Fred.

Yes you need to ask your existing provider for a MAC (migration authority
code) then give this code to your new provider, the only problem is that you
can only migrate between the same product. If your on Wanadoo 1Mbit you can
only migrate to another 1Mbit package also they both have to be BT wholesale
products and as Bulldog is a local loop supplier I don't think it will be
possible in your case.

Yes, an Ofcom code.
Bulldog can do IPStream to LLU migrations - i.e. it is possible to do and
you shoudn't be without broadband for more than a day or two.
Just ensure than you let Bulldog know when Freeserve plan to switch off your
service so that Bulldog can schedule an engineer to connect you to their
network.
If you are thinking of signing up with Bulldog would you mind quoting my
referral code -just quote "bdol 87431" when signing up online (under "How
did you hear about Bulldog?/Referred by a Friend") or just mention it while
ordering by telephone.
