Shouls be on BB tomorrow, but some posts seem to say that sometimes it
happens early. How will I know it has happened? Does the voice line
sound weird cos no filters are on?

@news.ntlworld.com:

Have you got your ADSL modem/router yet? If yes, and you've got the
username and password from your ISP then just connect up and try it!

Plug your modem in, it will sync with the exchange and light-up.

I would if I had a modem. Still waiting for it to arrive from Pipex.
They tell me its sent thru Royal Mail and could take up to 10 days.
They sent it a week ago and its still not arrived.
Why the heck they use Royal Mail is beyond me!

number for your modem. The royal mail seem fairly useless at posting
the tried to deliver cards at the moment. They may have tried to
deliver
and are waiting for you to ring them.

looming - the excitement and anticipation was unbearable.......worth the
wait though - i'm still like a kid with a new toy 3 months later!!

In article <3fc35356.2764278@news.ntlworld.com>, ngrayling@lineop.com,
a.k.a nick grayling says...

Who else would you suggest?
They (couriers) are all as shit as each other ...

And of those who might be worth using, they charge the sender a lot
more, and then you'd be moaning because the cost of P&P was too high.

I personally prefer to supply my own hardware.

Ah-ha! It all becomes clear now! Unfortunately, without your ADSL modem you
won't know whether your line has been activated - apart from the promised
completion date!

You will - however - still be being billed for it. This means that your
anniversary date started from the promised completion date - and NOT the
date you finally received/connected your gear! :-(

I'd start chasing up if I were you! 10 days is an awful long time, and we're
not into the Christmas rush yet!
