- idea for high speed low cost dsl

Since local loop unbundling (LLU) is supposed to be happening,
Why not take 1Mb broadband equipment with 256 upload link,
put in two lines, one for uplink and one for downlink
and you then have 1.25Mb bidirectional DSL ?
It means the first companies that do this must put in
equipment at the customer end, but they can
go out to places like taiwan and get this kind of
equipment built for $10.
Its big business.

You maths seem to be a bit off by my calculation. 2 lines at 1Mb/s dwn,
256Kb/s up, bonding them would give you 2mb/512??? Several companies already
offer this. http://www.aaisp.net.uk/aa/adsl/multiline.html

Wrong.
I was suggesting you put one of the links in reverse to get
high upload bandwdith.
Similar bidirectional SDL lines are about 4000 pounds a go.
