I am trying to help set up a business colleague with adsl in
Switzerland. She needs adsl and two analogue lines.

She has been advised to buy an isdn package with adsl and has already
subscribed.

I understand that, unlike the UK, adsl can co-exist with isdn. Is
there a different modulation/encapsulation standard for adsl there to
allow this? I am told that she needs an 'isdn variant' adsl router?

Apparently she needs a 'splitter' which is quite different from the
simple filters that we use here with analogue lines. Can anyone
advise on how this works and what else I would have to fit to enable
her to get two analogue lines out of this package?

I hope there are some good Telecoms generalists who won't mind being
asked these questions on a UK group.

devices (I can't remember the technical term for this - something like
sub-address) so you can have multiple phones (end-stations) on an ISDN line.
As you get two B channels (plus the signalling
D-channel) in an ISDN install each phone handset can use a channel
on a separate number.
