- Installing Blueyonder broadband onto a Tiny system
- Posted by Richard Graham on September 8th, 2004
I have recently bought a new PC from Tiny, which I am already
beginning to regret.
Can anybody tell me how I can install a blueyonder onto a new Tiny
system (XP)? I haven't mucked anything and still I am having problems!
I have been through the Blueyonder installation disk until it fails at
the very end. I know that Tiny have locked their ISP into the depths
of the system - Is this a problem with broadband connections as well?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Cheers

Many report the same dismay :-/
You can use a registry hack to remove the "poopernet" lock-in - google
alt.internet.providers.uk as it was mentioned about a month ago
As for BY, not sure, but help will from those in the know will be along
shortly :-p

Your new Tiny PC should have a NIC <network interface card> just plug the
other end of the cable into it and bingo you have the internet, Dont use the
installation disk, its only needed if your using USB which I wouldnt if I
were you.
Once you plug the cable modem into your nic your pc will see it and the CM
will assign an IP address to the PC, if you are using USB it should just be
a matter of plugging the usb cable into the PC AFTER you have installed the
drivers.
If you find you cant surf try this
open internet explorer, click Tools > internet option > connections.
In the connections box you should have nothing, if you have delete it, just
highlight the connection and remove it this will stop the pc trying to use a
dial up connection, also tick the box that says "never dial a connection"
Should be plain sailing then
