It's here!!

My broadband modem has turned up. Now for the bad news:

According to Onetel, BT still haven't switched my line over. They are doing
this tomorrow. Does anyone know of a way to get BT to do it now?

No. BT will activate the line according to their schedule.

BUT, remember to put micro-filters on ALL phones etc.
I thought it would at least work a bit without, only to find that I had
probably missed at least one day of connection!!
My line was enabled before the date my ISP (Pipex) said BT would enable it.

Or, alternatively, use your loaf and only install one on the incoming line
and wire all your extentions to that one filter. A lot cheaper.

then, tomorrow. If it doesn't work by close of business tomorrow then
you might have entered something incorrectly, or Onetel have cocked
up, one or the other anyway!

And don't forget any phone line connected to your sky box if you have one...
like I did!

D'OH! Came within hours of having a BT engineer coming out to charge me £80
for my own incompetence. Lucky escape when I realised the night before!!!

Should I also get a life because the most exciting thing about me
moving house isn't the mortgage arranagement; isn't the solicitor
arrangements; isn't the house buying process at all!...but which ISP
and router to buy once I've moved in. Sad, really
