In article <dhelai$o2o$1@nwrdmz01.dmz.ncs.ea.ibs-infra.bt.com>, Dave
says...
Broadband would be OK for her. 2Mbps and £14.99 a month.
It's a year long deal but free install and they can help transfer to a
new address and line with minimal downtime. Monthly options available as
well on Flex.

ALmost all monthly contract want the "activation fee" that BT Charge paid
up front - and there will be another such fee at the new house!
12-month contracts will often waive the activation fee for the *INITIAL* house.
There will be a fee for the move of the ADSL line to the second house - but
the contract's minimum length should be unaffected.

Hi Dave,
I'm with Plusnet and am planning to move house in a few months. They charge
an admin fee of £5.88 and the moving fee is waivered until you cancel your
contract, on a sliding scale - £47 in the first year dropping by £9.70 each
year, so if she stays with them for five years the moving fee is waivered.
They do packages from £14.99 to £21.99 per month, have a look at their
website. If she does sign up with them maybe she could use my referrer ID
'skintnminted' to save me a few pence.
Hope this helps!

True in most cases, but both Zen and Plus.Net offer free (or cheap - I think
there's a 5.xx admin fee made by Plus.Net) house moving, though while some do
a 12 months minimum, Plus.Net only defers the activation fee, and reduces it,
by 20% per year. So if she signs up, they'd charge the 40 +VAT if she closed
her account within 12 months, they'd charge 5.xx for the house move, and then
if she closed, she'd be liable for some portion(s) of activation fee(s). The
question is who else offers 2 Mbps (without traffic restrictions) for ~15 :-)
