- Moving from Zen to ADSL24
- Posted by Linker3000 on September 22nd, 2007
I'm getting fed up with Zen screwing up my billing on a regular basis +
their service (albeit very reliable) is looking expensive compared to
alternatives.
I'm thinking of moving to ADSL24 - any comments from those already using
them?

I've been with them for 8 months and have found their service, including
customer/technical support to be nothing other than first class.

What do they screw up ?
Can't help you there but I can recommend Idnet. They're like Zen for quality of
service but their prices are slightly more competitive. On the base maxdsl
package for example they charge the same but include 5GB of downloads in place
of 2 and charge less for extra GB too.
If you want to migrate to Idnet (it doesn't hurt to try them - they have the
same one month contract) email me. With an introduction we can both benefit to
the tune of £10.

your about to join a bursting bubble :-)
IDnet and Newnet offer more for the price or cost less for the
capacity than Zen and aren't selling 300 GB off-peak allowances that
are unsustainable if more that ~3% of users use them to the full.

Although running out of bandwidth, according to a link posted in another reply.
Idnet is the only ISP I have come across to state that there is NO contention
across their own network.
" We guarantee no contention across our network which is presented in London,
Paris and Amsterdam. We achieve this by not oversubscribing our services and
ensuring that bandwidth investment exceeds customer demand. Through our peering
agreements with over 380 of the major network operators present in these
locations, our network has the capacity and very low-latency to ensure your
Internet traffic, whether you have Broadband, Leased-line or Ethernet
connectivity, is delivered with the highest performance that is technically
possible. "

And they're not even *that* expensive !

I personally dont think entanet will run out of bandwidth at all.Of
course bandwidth goes up and down by the hour, and entanet is one of the
only providers that actually show you their pipe status clearly. The
third party entatool is also good for showing the pipe
status.Persoanlly ive never had less than a constant 2.5 megs download
which isnt bad considering im nearly 3 km from the exchange.Pricewise
adsl24 seems to be less expensive at £19.99 vs £24.99 for similar home
package. That said i havent used idnet either so cant comment on
them.Googling and looking at reviews they seem to have a very good
repuation too. Both isps have monthly contracts ,so hopefully it wouldnt
be too much of a problem trialing and migrating ,if the OP was
dissatisfied with his choice.
